Yoga can become a major source of employment for Kashmir as it will be a major draw for Kashmir tourism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while presiding over the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations in Srinagar, while stressing that Yoga has the potential to transformed the economy of Jammu. and Kashmir attracting more tourists.

“The day will be immortalized in people’s minds. Even the drop in temperatures amid rainy weather could not dampen the spirits of the people,” PM Modi said appreciating the enthusiasm of the people of J&K.

The program was delayed and had to be divided into 2-3 parts.

He advocated the connection of yoga with daily life and said that yoga is becoming an instinct of life for self and society and yoga, once made a part of daily life, gives uninterrupted benefits for a long time. “We must understand the importance of yoga in life. Just as brushing your teeth or brushing your hair becomes a daily routine, yoga just as easily becomes a process to follow once you get used to it. It continues to give benefits every moment,” he said.

“Meditation, which is a part of yoga, may frighten common people because of its spiritual overtones, however, it can be easily understood with concentration and focus,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that all humanity benefits when society benefits from yoga. He said he recently saw a video about a competition organized in Egypt to photograph or make a video on yoga in the country’s iconic tourism centers and praised the efforts of those participating in it. “Similarly, yoga and tourism can become a major source of employment in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.

Governor Manoj Sinha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Yoga with thousands of Yoga enthusiasts in Srinagar. “I am grateful to the Prime Minister for giving J&K the opportunity to lead the International Yoga Day celebrations. Prime Minister Modi left for New Delhi in the afternoon to conclude his two-day trip to Kashmir, which was his first visit after becoming the prime minister for the third time. High-level security arrangements were made across the city during the Prime Minister’s stay in Srinagar. On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 84 development projects at SKICC.
